This afternoon there was a statement released regarding the COVID-19 situation here in Rhode Island.  In an effort to provide public safety measures during this difficult time we will be taking the following recommended procedures effective immediately:

Effective immediately, the Recreation Department has canceled all scheduled public    meetings of its boards and commissions to reduce the spread of an outbreak

Town Recreational programs, activities, and events scheduled to be held from 3/13 to 3/30 are ALL be cancelled including any community center rentals

We tentatively plan to resume programming on 3/30 as this is an ongoing and ever-changing situation we will continue to monitor very closely and update you if there are any changes

We will pro-rate programs and provide household credit

We ask that if you have any correspondence for recreation to please take care of remotely as much as possible. Please contact us by phone, email or Fax. There is a drop box for taxes that you can use to drop any forms off just please put in an envelope marked ‘Recreation’

We ask that if you have any correspondence for recreation to please take care of it remotely as much as possible. Please contact us by phone, email or fax. There is a drop box for taxes that you can use to drop off any forms. Please put in an envelope marked “recreation”

It is our hope that with the measures that are being taken locally and nationally that the outbreak will be contained, and we will be able to resume programming with only minor adjustments to our schedule.  We are monitoring this closely and will continue to update you with information relative to our services as they become available.  Thank you for your patience as we navigate through this situation together.

Stay Healthy.

Sincerely,

Chelsey Dumas-Gibbs & Ralph Mollis
